Position Highlights

Main Scope:

The Cloud Infrastructure Architect is a senior technical role responsible for designing, evaluating and evolving cloud and infrastructure platforms across the organisation.

The role requires a broad IT infrastructure background rather than specialisation in a single technology. The successful candidate should be comfortable working across compute, virtualisation, networking, storage, operating systems, public cloud, containers and Kubernetes, and should be able to understand how these technologies interact as part of an end-to-end platform.

Main Responsibilities:

Solution Architecture & Design: Develop end-to-end technical designs, standards, and reference architectures for compute, storage, networking, private cloud, and public cloud (AWS/Azure) environments.

Platform Evolution & Modernization: Evaluate emerging technologies, lead Kubernetes/container integrations, and optimize existing platforms for performance, scale, cost, and resilience (DR/BCP).

Technical Leadership & Escalation: Provide senior-level guidance and complex cross-platform troubleshooting for major migrations, while mentoring engineers across the organization.

Governance & Delivery: Review deployment documentation and runbooks to ensure seamless handoff to operational teams, working closely with vendor partners.

Main Requirements:

Virtualization & HCI: Deep expertise in enterprise virtualization (VMware vSphere/ESXi, OpenStack, or Virtuozzo) and Hyperconverged Infrastructure (preferably Nutanix AHV/Prism).

Core Infrastructure: Strong background in Enterprise IT, SAN/NAS storage, network fundamentals (routing, switching, firewalls, load balancing), and both Windows & Linux OS.

Cloud & Containers: Hands-on experience with Kubernetes/containerization and public cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure).

Resiliency & Security: Thorough understanding of backup, disaster recovery, capacity planning, observability, and infrastructure security principles.

Pluses: Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, or scripting.
